Aruba
Aruba is the smallest and most westerly of the small group of islands known as the ABC group, the other two are Curacao and Bonaire. Aruba is a Dutch island and can be found 25km north of Venezuela and 68km west of Curacao. Aruba is dry and has little vegetation other than cacti and the plants brought in to decorate the resort grounds. The capital of Aruba is Oranjestad.
This is a laid back island, the three main resort areas are Druif Beach, Palm Beach and Eagle Beach. The airport is Queen Beatrix Airport which can be found on the upper west coast just outside Oranjestad.
Just off the western coast of Aruba is De Palm Island which is excellent for snorkelling.
