Turks & Caicos Beach Weddings

Getting married on the beautiful Turks and Caicos Islands

Yes, you can get married on the Turks & Caicos but you will obviously have to plan it well in advance to ensure that your island beach wedding day is the caribbean wedding day you have always dreamed of.

One important factor to bear in mind is that before you can apply for a Turks and Caicos Marriage License you have to have been resident on the islands for at least 72 hours. There is a $50.00 license fee payable to the Register General for Special Licenses. The processing of this marriage license then takes a further 2-3 days. You can then get married any time after this license has been granted.

The application for the license is made by a recognised marriage officer such as a pastor or other church minister. You need to present to this marriage officer certain documentation. You will need your birth certificate (original not a copy), your passport and proof of your marital status. If you are single then you need to provide a sworn affidavit. If one of you is divorced then you will need the original decree, if one of you is widowed then the death certificate of the previous spouse is required. If a change of name has occurred by way of adoption or deed poll then again official certificated proof is required. If either party is under 21 then that persons parent/s or other legal guardian need to provide consent to the marriage by way of a sworn affidavit. Each of you will need to provide a letter confirming your occupations, marital status, age, address and name of father.

It all sounds a bit daunting but with proper planning and organisation there is no reason why your Turks & Caicos Islands Wedding Ceremony will not be exactly as you dreamt it would be. There are also a number of specialist wedding coordinators based on the Turks and Caicos Islands who of can help arrange not only the marriage documentation but also the beach venue and your hotel reception and accomodation.

Review - This book takes us on a journey in photographs and words to the island of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands, British West Indies. The 73 truly magnificent full-colour, full-spread, photographs show us all aspects of this exotic Caribbean island: Its Grace Bay Beach (which is rightfully regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world), other places of interest, its beautiful animal and plant life, its beautiful children and beautiful sunsets. The accompanying text touches the past, present and future of the island, and invites us to sit still for a moment and reflect upon the beauty that is presented by the nature surrounding us. This book will be a joy for all: readers who have visited the island before, readers who have not been there yet, and readers who are generally interested in the still untouched Caribbean.
